Eternal Love

Eternal Love

(p.124) VIII Eternal Love
The Flame of Eternity

Krzysztof Michalski

, Benjamin Paloff
Princeton University Press

This chapter addresses the meaning of “eternal love.” This love is a trace of eternity. It is the presence of eternity in time. It is the revelation of a certain kind of “now”—the discovery of that “now” which signifies “always.” It is the suspension of time. If “now” means as much as “always,” the difference between “now” and “yesterday,” as well as “now” and “tomorrow”—and thus time itself—loses its meaning. Perhaps, the chapter speculates, in this way the human is connected to the divine. Maybe in this love, something more comes to the fore: a deep dimension of life as it is.
